Blue Frame Visuals was founded in 2001 in The Netherlands by Amsterdam-based filmmaker and artist Federico Campanale.  Over the years, Blue Frame Visuals has evolved into a creative company that produces impactful visual content and shares its experience through lectures and workshops.

Our main approach is documentary-based, using video and photography in order to raise awareness about societal issues and give a voice to the powerless and marginalized. We believe in the power of images to inform and to make people reflect about sensitive topics that get poor or no coverage in the mainstream media.

TV & Corporates

In parallel, Blue Frame Visuals also specialises in TV series and corporate production, having worked with major TV channels of The Netherlands (Nederland 1, 2 & 3) and of the United States (National Geographic & PBS, Vulcan) as well as large advertising companies such as CBS Outdoor and Ngage Media in The Netherlands.

Equipment & Services

Based on almost 20 years experience and in-depth technical skills, we know the entire line of production from concept to delivery, including camera work and editing.  In order to produce outstanding image quality we work with high-end equipment and edit in our own studio in Amsterdam. Videos are shot with a complete Sony FS7 set, allowing 4K film-like recordings in many formats, up to ProRes 4444 XQ, via an Pix-E5 external recorder.

Since end 2017, we also use the game-changer Nikon D850 dslr camera, which, next to some exceeding photographic features, also allows 4K video and majestic timelapses up to 8K resolution.

AAlong visual content production, Blue Frame Visuals also offers training courses in the different aspects of film making, from concept development to final delivery for tv, festival or cinema, including camera technique and the entire post-production process (editing, grading and graphics).

Our experience ranges from guest lecturing at art institutes (Gerrit Rietveld Academy and Sandberg institute in Amsterdam) to theoretical and technical workshops for audiovisual schools (Open Studio, SAE and Media College in Amsterdam, Raffles Institute in Singapore and Mumbai) or for NGO’s (UNICEF in The Netherlands and Cambodia).
